FULL TEXT:
The 1st Annual Global Summit on Self -Determination (1st AGSD) is over and on the records, and we feel it was a success.
· Essentially 11 organizations participated, allowing the summit to be broadcast live in 4 nations and 2 continents.
· It had been around 10 years since the last summit of this kind – anywhere.
At the end of the event, we asked if everyone would agree to go to a second summit – and everyone said yes. (MINUTE 3:18:00)
We are excited and pleased to see such a reaction, as this gives us feedback that we have done well in YOUR eyes.
So,
The 2nd Summit is set for Feb 2025.
This means we all have (roughly) 4 months to get our movements prepared.
We want this event to be even larger than the last.
ONE:
· We are in talks to have Natacha Atlas, an official UN Goodwill Ambassador as well as world-famous recording and performing artist, provide opening remarks.
· Natacha will bring increased international credibility to the Summit.
TWO:
· We are also going to attempt to have an in-person Summit, alongside virtual attendees. What this means, is that we will have some (who can), travel to us and attend in person around a table with ourselves (Jason & Marcus), while we live stream the rest of the attendees, bringing us all into one room together (metaphorically).
· We are attempting to offer 50% air fare for any representative delegate willing to travel to California.
THREE:
· We have contracted with filmographers to professionally video and photograph the event. This, too, will help increase the notability, news worthiness, and profile of the Summit.
FOUR:
· We are asking every group to let us know about other independence movements that could be invited, or to please spread word of this next Summit to any independence movement that you know.
· Our goal is to have at least twice the number of attendees for this next summit.
· The more organizations that attend this summit – the greater official media and social media attention are generated for the event (which benefits everyone).
FIVE:
· We are working with GIS mapping experts to produce a definitive map of current independence movements around the world.
· Currently there is no such resource available online – a person would have to read 20 different articles to figure out where all of the struggles for freedom are occurring.
· We aim to make the definitive reference for academics and laypeople – available anywhere online.
SIX:
· The original vision we had at Calexit LLC was to build something akin to a UN Summit, but built specifically around self-determination.
· We had originally wanted to do several discussion groups, and a possible international agreement of cooperation in good-faith.
· Summits usually list goals for the entire group of attendees to achieve together and then report on the progress of achieving those goals at the next summit.
So in response:
· Calexit LLC published a guide of Marketing for Independence movements (for the first Summit). A review of this presentation and examples of everything we suggested are in this article:
· As we said during the Summit, Calexit LLC believes in the proverbial saying that a “rising tide raises all boats” and its application to what we are all doing; pursuit of the fundamental human right to self-determination.
· In other words: when we each raise the professionalism of our cause(s) – every case for independence gains greater credibility.
· We ask, and hope that every organization will attempt to implement some of the lessons from the marketing discussion at Summit 1, and we can showcase (how our movements have grown more professional) at Summit 2.
· This would allow us to issue a communique about how the Summit has improved the representation of independence movements around the world – raising the credibility of the event.
So, please, continue to help us grow this into a platform so huge that the world can not ignore us.
Help us continue to build this stage (for us all) so we can pull the world’s spotlight onto our claims.
