CBS TV Bay Area just released an episode about Calexit.
In that episode they interview professor Henry Brady, who says “There probably is no way it [California] really can secede” (@ minute 4:13)
What is interesting was that the news report didn’t mention that Professor Henry Brady seemingly backed the Calexit idea in 2022 – just two years earlier.
He was the Director of Research for a policy publication called “The Future of Federalism and Foreign Policy” by California 100. On pg 51 this report states that “”Lord Bryce’s 1888 observation about California in The American Commonwealth still rings true. Of all the American states, only California could be a separate, self-sustaining nation.”
If Henry Brady is the Director of Research for this report and the report cites a historical quote – then it is very likely that Professor Brady saw that quote or directly approved of it.
In which case … Which Professor Henry Brady do we believe? The one who said Calexit couldn’t happen on the news last night, or the professor who said California could be a separate nation in 2022.
