Answer – No. The Calexit movement started in 2014, saying that California was a nation state. At that time, we were laughed at and told this idea would never grow. Two years later, with the election of Donald Trump, our movement grew from 10,000 members across California to 32% of 40 million people. Since that time, our Governor routinely uses the phrase Nation-State to refer to California and now, no one laughs. We believe given this trajectory of the idea among Californians and the fact that America seems to continually destabilize – this idea will become more relevant with each increasing year.
